Sehar Tariq
Ms. Sehar Tariq is a member of the Content Policy team at Meta. Before joining the content policy team, she was the Head of Public Policy for Pakistan at Meta leading Meta’s work on policy and regulatory issues. She worked closely with regulators, legislators, and civil society organizations on issues of safety, economic growth, and digital literacy. Before joining Facebook, Ms. Tariq led the Pakistan program at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) where her work focused on issues of peace, security, foreign policy, and human rights. She has over fifteen years of experience working in the field of International Development on issues related to human development, governance, and regional stability. Ms. Tariq holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Princeton University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
Taimur Bandey
Mr. Bandey is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in international education. Holding a Master's degree in International Relations and Political Theory, along with an MPhil in Political Science, Mr. Bandey has a rich background in academia and leadership. Formerly, Mr. Bandey served as the President of the Debating Society of Pakistan and Vice Chair of the World Schools Debating Championship. With 24 years of teaching experience in A-level economics and a background as the former Head of an IB school, he provides consultancy services to schools across Pakistan, specializing in setting up IB programs. He is also an advisor to a leading EdTech company and a member of the National Commission for Curriculum Development.
Stephen Turban
Mr. Stephen Turban is the co-founder of the Lumiere Education. Before starting Lumiere, Mr. Turban worked at McKinsey & Company & studied at Harvard College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Statistics. He founded Lumiere Education as a PhD student at Harvard Business School. Mr. Turban is passionate about getting more talented students into research - his past research has been covered in popular press and research publications including the Harvard Business Review, The Economist, The Washington Post, Freakonomics Radio, and the BBC.
Sofia Shakil
Ms. Sofia Shakil is a seasoned international development professional with 25 years of experience across Asia with multi-lateral finance and international organizations. She is currently the Director of the Human and Social Development Sector Office, Sectors Group (SG-HSD) at the Asian Development Bank. In this role, she leads the planning, implementation, and supervision of the Central and West Asia and East Asia regional team's vision, goals, strategies, and work plan that are aligned to ADB's priorities at corporate and country/sector operation levels in the human and social sector development. Ms. Shakil has previously held positions at the Asia Foundation, the World Bank, and Save the Children. She holds a Master of Science in Economics (Economic History) from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations & Politics from Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan.
Shahab Rashid
Mr. Rashid is a Managing Partner at L Catterton and the Co-Head of Private Credit.
Prior to joining L Catterton, Mr. Rashid was a Partner & Co-Founder of the Private Credit Group at Adams Street Partners. In this role, he was responsible for leading the build-out of the business by developing the strategy, recruiting and managing the team, heading the fundraising efforts, and approving investment opportunities. The strategy focused on investing in all forms of debt of private equity-backed, middle-market companies. Mr. Rashid was a member of the Private Credit Investment Committee and the firm’s Portfolio Construction Committee. Before joining Adams Street, Mr. Rashid was a Managing Director in the U.S. Private Credit/Direct Lending Group at Oaktree Capital Management where he was responsible for leading his team in investing across the capital structure in private equity backed, middle-market companies. Mr. Rashid started his career as a member of the Leveraged Finance Team at Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup providing capital solutions to financial sponsors and corporate clients.
Mr. Rashid has a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
